Visit the Aiguamolls
Our region is rightly proud of its flora and fauna, and one of the finest venues is he protected areas of "Aiguamolls d'Empordą." This wonderful park is available to the public free of charge. The park contains more than 4783 hectares between the Serra de Rodes to the north and the delta of the Fluvia Vell to the south.

The protected area is divided into sectors north and south of the Muga. In the swamp and pond areas of the Aiguamolls millions of migrating birds find excellent conditions for breeding or for a layover.

| Arguably the four best months for bird-watchers to visit are April, May, August and September. During these months the largest number of migratory birds are taking advantage of the hospitality of the Aiguamolls. And, the best time of day to visit is either morning or evening. | ![]() |

| The park is free. There is not
a fee to visit the Aiguamolls. Visitors will find that binoculars
will enhance the bird watching and make the entire visit more enjoyable.
Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times.
